About

Safe Climate Australia is a leading climate action forum—a platform where unflinching contributors tackle the critical questions of how to restore safe climate conditions and ensure protection for people and planet.

About Safe Climate Australia

Safe Climate Australia examines the full scale of climate impacts, risks, and threats. This work provides the foundation for identifying credible pathways for protection. We provide a platform to publish, broadcast, and showcase leading contributors working across climate risk, strategy, and response. We seek to amplify this work to advocates and policymakers to support the restoration of safe climate conditions for Australia and the world

Our Mission

Our mission is to rigorously investigate and advocate for pathways that aim to return the climate system to a safe operating space. We focus on evidence-based approaches and provide clear, accessible, and scientifically grounded analysis and strategy. We approach climate restoration as an ongoing inquiry. We explore what it will take to restore pre-industrial climate conditions and communicate these pathways in a way that is informed, clear, and directly actionable.

Our Role

Safe Climate Australia offers rigorous analysis to help advocates engage with the issues fully informed. We aim to deepen understanding and strengthen advocacy, equipping advocates with credible insights to help enable effective action. We present the climate reality as it is, no matter how confronting, and outline what’s required to ensure protection. Our work is designed to help advocates identify and respond to the most pressing issues.

Safe Climate Australia maintains an unwavering focus on long-term climate realities. We don’t pivot with political tides or trends. Instead, we provide a clear-eyed assessment of what must be done, so advocates have a stable and credible foundation on which to develop strategy, shape and inform action.
